Peach Bows

20 May

I would bet that no one could guess what I patterned this manicure after. I’m going to give you a minute to think about that.
Bows_peach (6) WLcopyI started with NYX Girls White and used China Glaze Peachy Keen and Sinful Colors Hazard for my borders and bows.

Bows_peach (9) WLcopyAnyone want to venture a guess as to what my inspiration was? The winning guess will get a gold star! ;)

Random Polish Waves

10 Apr

This is another one of those random designs that is just born out of having no direction when you bust out the polish.

Randomness (2) WLcopyI did this with my left hand, so of course I wanted to keep it simple.  I love the irregular pattern of it.  Each nail is unique and had a little bit of naked nail peeking out.

Randomness (5) WLcopyI used China Glaze For Audrey, OPI The “It” Color, Sinful Colors Hazard, Orly Green Apple and Milani Rad purple.

Spring Flowers Nails

4 Apr

How cute are these flowers? I saw Chalkboard Nails picture on Pinterest and loved it! I tried it right away.
SpringDaisies (5) WLcopyThe petals were just done with the bottle brush. Easy peasy. Had I watched Mr. Candiipants’ tutorial before I did these, I would have been 100% bottle brush. Oh well.

SpringDaisies (9) WLcopyThese are so happy and seasonal. I love them. I will totally do these again. Next time I’ll try it the Candiipants way though.  For this design I used OPI Do You Lilac It, Sinful Colors Hazard, Orly Green Apple, China Glaze For Audrey and OPI The “It” Color.

SpringDaisies (11) WLcopyIs this a design you will try or have already tried? It’s one that just about any skill level can pull off. Give it a shot.

Art Deco Nails

3 Apr

I guess you could maybe classify these as art deco. I don’t really know what else to call them.silver_coral_purple_aqua (7) WLcopyThere was a slight plumbing emergency in my kitchen yesterday. There was a leak under the sink so I called my dad to come rescue me since hubby was at work. I tell you this because his gracious repair cut in to my manicure time so I had to do something quick. I didn’t want to bust out any art brushes and have to bother with clean up, so this is what I ended up with.

silver_coral_purple_aqua (10) WLcopyI really quite like it. I started with China Glaze Platinum. I love this metallic silver, but be careful with it. It has a tendency to bubble like mad. Then I used China Glaze For Audrey, Sinful Colors Hazard and Wet ‘n Wild On a Trip.

silver_coral_purple_aqua (11) WLcopyBottle brush designs are some of my favorite to do. Sometimes I just don’t want to hassle with all those tiny brushes and am grateful that there are some easy nail art designs out there that don’t require special tools. Do you have a favorite bottle brush design?

Easter Robin Eggs Nails

28 Mar

One of my most favorite things about Easter is Robin Eggs.
Splatter_pastels_RobinEgg (5) WLcopyI know I can get Whoppers any time, but they don’t have the pretty candy shells that you can use as lipstick. Please tell me that my family is not the only family that colors our lips with Robin Eggs.

Splatter_pastels_RobinEgg (8) WLcopyFor this splatter I used brown acrylic paint. The craft acrylic I used is much thinner than nail polish so it was easier to use, but blobbed a bit more. The clean up was a breeze though. After I had applied my top coat and let it dry, I scrubbed the acrylic paint off my skin. So much easier than horribly drying out my skin cleaning up with polish remover or acetone.

Splatter_pastels_RobinEgg (10) WLcopyFor this design I used Revlon Cloud, China Glaze Peachy Keen, Essie Borrowed and Blue, American Apparel Butter and Barry M Mint Green.
